Overview	Kumho Tire Co., formerly known as Samyang Tire, is a South Korean tire company. Headquartered in Gwangju, South Korea, it is a subsidiary of the Kumho Asiana Group, along with Asiana Airlines, South Korea's second largest airline.

Kumho means "bright lake" in the Korean language. In the European Union, Kumho Tire is known as Kumho Tyre.

Kumho Asiana Group is a large South Korean Chaebol (conglomerate), with subsidiaries in the automotive, industry, leisure, logistic, chemical and airline fields. The group is headquartered at the Kumho Asiana Main Tower in Sinmunno 1-ga, Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea. As of 2014 the largest shareholder is Park Sam Koo, the third son of the company's founder, who stepped down as CEO in 2010.
