The flash on the Opel logo is inspired by the popular Opel Blitz truck model. The word “Blitz” is a German word meaning lightning. The present emblem, introduced in 2009, features an elegant yet strong and sharp horizontal lightning, embedded into a silver and black circle with the brand’s name at the top.
