Audi Logo Meaning
The company name is based on the surname of the founder, August Horch. “Horch”, meaning “listen” in German, becomes “Audi” when translated into Latin.
When the Auto Union was formed, the four rings appeared as a symbol for the first time.
In 1932, the four companies Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer joined together to form Auto Union AG, which would later become AUDI AG. And the company needed a new logo. The four interlocking rings were born.
